Of all dental nightmares, having multiple gaps or a smile filled with badly damaged teeth can often seem like the worst. A failing smile doesn’t just impact your appearance and confidence, it changes your relationship with food, causes speech issues, and leaves you at risk of so many other health complications.
So when you hear that you can replace all your missing or damaged teeth in a day with dental implants, it’s perfectly understandable that your reaction might be one of disbelief.
After all, dental implant placements for single teeth often involve multiple procedures, so replacing all of your “Teeth in a Day” can’t be possible, right?…Or can it?
Teeth in a Day uses revolutionary techniques to change the outlook on your smile rapidly. Still don’t believe us? Read on to find out more about how we can restore every missing or damaged tooth and give you a functioning smile in a single day.
Before going into detail about Teeth in a Day, let’s discuss dental implants in general.
One drawback to some options for replacing teeth is that there is no sub-gumline support. Although modern replacement teeth are of a high standard, they don’t have the same stability as natural teeth when there is nothing to anchor them in position.
Implants are small titanium posts that act as new roots for replacement teeth. They do all the hard work of tooth roots and are the next best thing to your natural teeth.
A single implant is often used with a custom-made crown to replace one missing tooth. The problem arises when you need to replace several teeth. Having crowns and implants across your smile is costly and impractical.
Teeth in a Day is a procedure that restores your smile in one day. Instead of replacing one tooth, this procedure can give you a whole new arch.
Sometimes referred to as “all-on-4 implants” or “full mouth implants,” the treatment uses four or six titanium implants positioned strategically along your jaw.
The rearmost implants are positioned at an angle. This gives broader support to the hardworking teeth at the back of your mouth. The front teeth are supported by vertical implants.
Dental implants can last for life. Their precision design and materials ensure they never corrode or deteriorate, and the durable titanium is both lightweight and biocompatible.
After the implants are embedded into your jaw, osseointegration occurs. During this process, the bone surrounding your newly placed implant will heal, securing your smile’s new foundation into position. This natural fusion can take several months, but its stability will give your new smile firm support.
If you have several failing teeth or gaps along one arch of your smile, Teeth in a Day can help you. We’d need to remove teeth that cannot be saved and check whether your jaw can support implants.
When you lose teeth, your jaw gradually changes. Because your jaw no longer needs to support the missing teeth, the bone will become thinner and weaker. This is because vital minerals are removed and taken elsewhere via your blood.
While this can alter the structure of your face, it has implications on whether you can receive implants.
In certain cases, implant surgery will not be possible. If X-rays reveal insufficient bone density, it would not be able to hold the implants in place. In this situation, you may need a bone graft procedure first.
The first step in the process is to find out whether dental implants are right for you. We’ll take scans and x-rays to check your suitability and ask you a few general questions about your health. We need to ensure you have sufficient bone mass, and will recover well from the procedure.
After your initial assessment, we’ll discuss the next steps, talk you through costs and finance options, and plan the procedure. We’ll then book you in for the full procedure.
On the treatment day, we’ll begin by providing you with an anaesthetic. This removes discomfort. We’ll then prepare and place each implant.
Once your implants are in position, we’ll take impressions for your custom replacement teeth. Although we won’t place your final teeth on the day of your procedure, you will still leave with a complete smile.
We’ll fit temporary teeth which will look and feel great. Even though you’ll only wear them for a short period of time, we’ll ensure they’re crafted to the highest standards, give you a confident bite, and look the part.
In the weeks and months following your treatment, we’ll check back with you periodically after your treatment to see how well the implant and bone are fusing. When your final teeth are ready, we’ll place them.
Before any procedure, it’s natural to think about your experience and whether the treatment or the recovery period will involve pain or discomfort.
We always use anaesthetic to maintain comfort throughout the procedure. If you’re anxious about pain or discomfort, we can also provide you with sedation.
Sedation dentistry leaves you conscious throughout the procedure. Instead of feeling scared or anxious, you’ll feel perfectly relaxed and calm, making the whole process smoother and more comfortable.
We offer two types of sedation: RA, which is inhaled, and IV, which we can administer. IV is perfect for this type of procedure, and we can maintain your sedation levels throughout the treatment.
After the anaesthetic wears off, you may feel some soreness. Over-the-counter pain medication easily manages this.
We’ll need to see you again to check on your progress. Throughout the recovery process, we’ll perform scans to ensure your jaw has accepted the implants.
Although you’ll have a beautiful, functional smile, we’ll replace the temporary teeth with lifelike permanent restorations, which our lab will custom-make based on the size, shape, colour, and texture of your existing teeth. Everything will look flawlessly natural.
You can return home once your Teeth-in-a-day procedure is complete. If you had sedation, we recommend someone else drive you home, as you may feel lightheaded for a while.
Rest up after your procedure, and remember to stay hydrated.
It can take some time for your jaw to heal after your procedure. Immediately after, you should stick to softer foods. For the first day or so, this may mean eating soups, yoghurt, or similar items. You can gradually start to reintroduce harder foods as time goes by. Pretty soon, you can eat whatever takes your fancy.
During recovery, it’s particularly important to keep your mouth clean. This prevents bacteria from causing complications around the treatment site.
After the implants have settled in and your final teeth are in place, you should maintain good standards of hygiene, avoid biting anything that could damage your new teeth, and visit us every six months for a checkup.
Your implants should stay in position for life, but this is dependent on how well you care for your smile.
Yes, you can rebuild your smile in just one day. Teeth in a Day gives you the long-lasting benefits of dental implants without needing multiple treatment stages.
This quick treatment restores your confidence while giving your teeth a firm foundation so you can smile, eat, speak, sing, and laugh without a second thought.
