Dr Satnam Singh Virdee

After acquiring his undergraduate dental degree at the University of Birmingham in 2013 with distinction & honours, Satnam completed his foundation training at a family practice in the Mersey Deanery.

It was here that he developed an interest in Restorative Dentistry, a field involving Endodontics (root canal treatments), Prosthodontics (restoring & replacing damaged/lost teeth) and Periodontics (gum treatment). To gain further insight into this field, he proceeded to embark upon a formal training pathway where he completed several dental core training years in Restorative Dentistry and Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at the University Hospitals of Leeds, Birmingham and Cardiff all whilst working part time in a private general practice setting on weekends. Throughout these years he gained significant clinical and academic experience in complex procedures related to Restorative Dentistry and has since accumulated a series of additional qualifications, published in popular national and international peer-reviewed journals and had the opportunity to present his work at conferences around the world.

His passion and quality of work are further demonstrated through the acquisition of multiple highly recognised international and national awards including:

• 2016 Harley Street National Endodontic Award
• 2016 British Endodontic Society National General Dental Practitioner Prize

• 2015 British Society of Periodontology National Audit Award
• 2014 British Endodontic Society National Harty Prize

These achievements have led to his appointment as a full time Clinical Lecturer and Honorary Speciality Registrar in Restorative Dentistry at the University of Birmingham where he contributes to undergraduate teaching and is currently undertaking a PhD and speciality clinical training with the hope to become a Senior Clinical Lecturer and Honorary Consultant in Restorative Dentistry. Nevertheless, Satnam continues to work part time in private practice and is happy to provide his experience and expertise in complex restorative procedures including Endodontic, Prosthodontic and Periodontic related treatments.
