Sedation

Feel relaxed and comfortable with our award winning team

We are proud to be offering two different types of sedation in Stone, Staffordshire

Here at Abbey House Dental we want our patients to have a positive experience when they come and visit and are aware that some of our patients may need a helping hand…

We offer two different types of sedation at the practice. This is especially helpful if you are nervous or having a lengthy procedure. We will take time to discuss your concerns and expectations before sedation. We will thoroughly explain the procedure, what it involves and make sure you are comfortable before, during and after.

We welcome anyone who feels they would benefit from dental treatment under sedation, it is suitable for both adults and children and we are proud to accept referrals from other practices too.

We offer two types of sedation. IV sedation, where a sedative is administered and RA sedation “happy air” which is gently breathed in. Both systems give fantastic results. We recommend happy air for some children.

Benefits of having sedation for Dental Treatment;

  • We can reduce the number of visits that you need by combining treatments whilst you are under sedation.
  • You can feel happy having treatment in a much more relaxed state especially if you are nervous.
  • Sedation is not a general anaesthetic, so the risks are extremely low, you will be awake just very relaxed, possibly unaware of your surroundings.
  • The recovery time is very quick, on the day of your visit you will need to be chauffeured to and from the practice and be with someone for 24 hours afterwards. After this you will be fine to carry on as normal, with little or no recollection of your visit with us.

Yes, you will need the day off of the treatment and at least the day off after, after that see how you feel.
