Full arch dental implants are transforming the way we restore smiles at Abbey House Dental. For patients with multiple failing or missing teeth, this fixed solution offers long-lasting, natural-looking teeth that feel far more secure than traditional dentures.
Instead of replacing every missing tooth with an individual implant, this approach uses a carefully planned number of implants in the upper or lower jaw to support a complete arch of teeth. Because the new teeth are fixed in place, patients no longer have to worry about loose dentures, sore spots or messy adhesives. Everyday activities such as chewing, smiling and talking become easier and more comfortable, which is why many people describe the treatment as life-changing.
In the podcast, Clinical Director Dr Amit Jilka speaks with implant surgeon Dr Abdul Naseer about a recent “teeth in a day” patient. She arrived with failing teeth in both arches and a long history of dental anxiety.
In a single visit, Dr Abdul removed the remaining teeth, placed implants in both jaws and, working closely with the in-house technician, fitted a fixed temporary bridge the same day. She left with a stable new smile and a huge boost in confidence. For the team at Abbey House Dental, moments like this highlight the emotional as well as the functional impact of advanced implant dentistry.

During the conversation, Dr Abdul explains his journey from general dentistry into complex implant and full-arch work. After qualifying from Liverpool in 2012, he completed a comprehensive implant course in Leeds, hands-on training abroad and a Master’s programme in Italy alongside Dr Amit.
Years of focused education, mentoring and real-world experience have allowed him to progress from straightforward single implants to advanced full-arch and reconstructive cases. Patients benefit from this depth of expertise, combined with the collaborative approach of the wider Abbey House Dental Team.
Full arch rehabilitation once involved multiple lengthy appointments and long waiting times between stages. Today, Abbey House Dental combines CBCT scans, digital intraoral scanning, photogrammetry and 3D printing to streamline the process.
In many suitable cases, this digital workflow allows the clinicians to:
For patients, this can mean fewer visits, more comfort and a much quicker journey from failing teeth or loose dentures to a secure, confident smile.
Replacing many missing teeth does not always have to involve a fixed bridge. Some patients may prefer traditional removable dentures, while others might be suited to implant-retained dentures, where a denture clips onto a small number of implants for improved stability.
These options can work very well for the right person. However, for those who want a solution that stays in place, allows stronger biting and feels more like their own teeth, a full-arch fixed bridge on implants is often the treatment of choice.
Most patients can at least be considered for full-arch dental implants, provided their general and oral health are carefully assessed. Smoking, gum disease, certain medications and reduced bone levels can all influence the treatment plan, but they do not always rule out implants.
Techniques such as bone grafting or sinus lifts may be recommended in some cases. Dr Abdul also discusses more advanced approaches, including zygomatic and pterygoid implants, which can help when there is very little bone left in the upper jaw. This means even people who have previously been told they are not suitable may still have options.
Both Dr Amit Jilka and Dr Abdul Naseer believe that full arch dental implants will continue to evolve as new materials and digital technologies emerge, but their focus will always remain on patient-centred care.
If you are struggling with failing teeth or loose dentures and would like to explore whether this treatment could be right for you, the team at Abbey House Dental can guide you through your options, answer your questions and help you take the first step towards a more confident, comfortable smile.
