Abbey House Dental provides dental implants, full arch implants and All-on-X (also known as All-on-4 and All-on-6) treatment from three Staffordshire practices in Rugeley, Stafford and Stoke-on-Trent. Every case is planned digitally using Straumann implants, SmileCloud AI-driven smile design, the iTero intraoral scanner, exocad lab design and CBCT 3D imaging — the same technologies Dr Amit Jilka teaches to the next generation of UK implant dentists on the Brighton and Sussex Medical School Diploma in Dental Implantology.
This article explains what dental implants and full arch implants are, what makes our digital workflow different, and what to expect at your Staffordshire implant consultation.

A dental implant is a small titanium post placed into the jawbone to replace the root of a missing tooth. Once it has integrated with the bone, a custom-made crown, bridge or denture is fixed on top. The result is a replacement tooth that looks, feels and functions like a natural one — and is widely regarded as the gold-standard treatment for missing teeth because it preserves the surrounding bone and does not rely on neighbouring teeth for support.
Full arch implant treatment replaces an entire upper or lower set of teeth using as few as four to six dental implants. The technique is commonly called All-on-4, All-on-6 or All-on-X — the “X” simply refers to the number of implants needed for your individual case.
Full arch implants are typically the right option for patients who:
At Abbey House Dental, full arch and All-on-X cases across Stafford, Rugeley and Stoke-on-Trent are planned in detail digitally before any surgery takes place — so you can see your new smile on screen long before it goes into your mouth.
Implant dentistry has changed enormously in the last decade. The best clinicians no longer plan implants on a paper x-ray and a plaster model — they plan them digitally, on a screen, often weeks before treatment begins. This is the workflow we use for every implant patient at Abbey House Dental.
All three Abbey House Dental practices in Rugeley, Stafford and Stoke-on-Trent exclusively use implants from the Straumann Group — the most clinically researched dental implant system in the world. Decades of published evidence, predictable long-term integration and global continuity of care: these are the reasons we don’t compromise on the implant system itself.
Instead of traditional impressions, we capture a precise 3D scan of your teeth and gums with the iTero intraoral scanner. The scan takes minutes, isn’t uncomfortable, and gives us a digital model we can use throughout your implant planning, smile design and final restoration.
A CBCT scan gives us a true three-dimensional view of your jawbone, sinuses and key anatomical structures. For implant and All-on-X planning this is non-negotiable — it tells us exactly where the bone is, how much is there, and where each implant should ideally sit. All CBCT scans for our implant cases are reported by a specialist radiology service in line with IRMER 2017 requirements.
SmileCloud is Straumann’s AI-driven smile design platform. We stack your iTero scan, clinical photographs and CBCT data together inside SmileCloud’s 3DNA biometric workflow and generate a realistic visualisation of your final smile — before a single implant is placed. For aesthetic cases, smile makeovers and full arch implant rehabilitation in Staffordshire, this is the single most powerful tool for letting patients see, understand and approve their treatment plan in advance.
Once your plan is approved, your iTero scan is streamed directly to our dental laboratory using the iTero–exocad connector — typically reaching the lab in under five minutes. Your lab technician then designs your crown, bridge or full arch restoration in exocad DentalCAD, and we can share that exocad render with you before fabrication begins. You see exactly what is being made for you.
Every implant patient at Abbey House Dental is photographed with professional SLR clinical photography — a full smile, retracted views, lateral views and occlusal images. These photographs are part of your medical record, they protect you and us, and they make patient communication far clearer than verbal explanation alone.

On 15th May 2026, Dr Amit Jilka delivered the Marketing & Business Strategy day for Module 6 of the Brighton and Sussex Medical School Diploma in Dental Implantology, hosted at Straumann UK headquarters. The day was co-delivered with Dr Kalpesh Prajapat, with the diploma faculty — Professor Jag Dhadha (Maxillofacial Consultant and Director of the Diploma) and Dr Sami Stagnell (Course Lead) — in attendance.
Two of the lectures Dr Jilka delivered on that day translate directly into how our patients in Stafford, Rugeley and Stoke-on-Trent are looked after:
This evidence-based lecture covered the gold-standard implant consultation — from full medical and social history through to phased treatment planning, informed consent as a documented conversation, and the use of iTero scanning, the Align Oral Health Suite, SmileCloud, exocad and clinical photography as everyday chairside communication tools. The headline study (Schulz-Weidner et al., 2024) is striking: patients shown their condition with an intraoral scan understood their treatment 85.5% of the time, versus 57.2% with verbal explanation alone. Every Abbey House Dental implant consultation across our three Staffordshire practices is built on this evidence.
The second lecture tackled clinician mindset — the limiting beliefs that hold back new implant dentists, the difference between playing a “finite” and an “infinite” career game (Simon Sinek), and a clear philosophy on pricing: do not compete on price; compete on quality, outcomes and patient experience. For our patients, that translates into a simple promise: we will never cut corners on the implant system, the planning workflow or the clinical photography to discount a case. The work is the work.

Every implant journey at Abbey House Dental — whether you’re considering a single implant or a full arch All-on-X case — starts the same way:
All-on-4 is the most well-known version of full arch implant treatment, using four implants per jaw. All-on-X is the broader term — some patients are better treated with five, six or more implants depending on bone volume and bite forces. At Abbey House Dental we plan the number of implants around your individual case, not around a brand name.
Yes. For aesthetic cases and full arch rehabilitation we use SmileCloud smile design and — where appropriate — an exocad render from our lab to show you a realistic visualisation of your final result before any surgery is booked.
With good oral hygiene, regular maintenance visits and a well-planned bite, full arch implants can last for decades. Straumann implants in particular have one of the longest track records in implant dentistry. The fixed bridge attached to the implants may eventually need refurbishing, but the underlying implants are designed as a long-term solution.
Yes — with three Abbey House Dental practices in Rugeley, Stafford and Stoke-on-Trent, you can choose the location nearest to you, and we regularly treat patients travelling across Staffordshire and from Cannock, Lichfield and Burton-on-Trent.
